PVWC Launches New Web Map with Address Lookup Tool for Hydrant Flushing

(Clifton, NJ – June 4, 2025) — Passaic Valley Water Commission (PVWC) is excited to announce the launch of a new, interactive web map designed to make it easier for customers to stay informed about hydrant flushing activity in their neighborhoods.

The new address lookup tool allows customers to enter their home address and instantly see if PVWC is flushing nearby. Hydrant flushing is a routine yet essential maintenance process that improves water quality by removing sediment from pipes and ensuring proper valve operation. However, it can occasionally cause temporary discoloration or reduced water pressure — making this tool a valuable resource for planning ahead.

“At PVWC, transparency and customer engagement are top priorities,” said Jim Mueller, Executive Director of PVWC. “This new web map takes the guesswork out of hydrant flushing schedules and empowers residents with timely, accurate information.
