(Clifton, N.J. – June 5, 2026) – Passaic Valley Water Commission (PVWC) is providing an update to customers currently affected by the precautionary boil water advisory issued following repairs to the transmission main system in Clifton.
Water quality sampling is still underway throughout the advisory area. PVWC anticipates receiving test results by late this afternoon or early this evening.
Once received, the results will be submitted to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) for review and determination on whether the precautionary boil water advisory can be lifted.
The advisory remains in effect until NJDEP approves its removal. Customers in the affected area should continue to boil water for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, preparing infant formula, and washing fruits and vegetables. Laundry may continue to be washed as usual.
Customers will be notified immediately when the precautionary boil water advisory is lifted.
